So it’s the last week of summer vacation! My brother had football practice for most of the week, so I woke up at 6 every morning to go with him. Trust me, I was exhausted, but I went to every practice from Sunday to Thursday – except Tuesday because I was just too tired. On Thursday, he left for football camp upstate. It is so weird seeing him go away because he is the youngest of us and usually my sister and I are the ones off to another destination.
After dropping off my brother, I had to pick up some clothes for school and do some work in the research lab I was volunteering in. Of course, I saved back to school shopping until pretty much the last minute. Luckily the sales were still going strong, and I got a few pieces I love. I was pretty proud of myself when shopping this week. Usually, I just pick up what I like that is in my size, but this time I shopped with actual outfits and purposes in mind. I tried on every piece – something I also never do – and only brought the outfit if I loved it. That bit of advice was from a good friend of mine, and it really paid off.
My first day of classes was on Friday, and it was Cancer Biology; which I am pretty excited to learn about. I am really hoping that all my courses this semester are as interesting as I perceive them to be. On Friday, I also met with the Professor running the lab I work in to discuss taking on a new role in the lab. Wish me luck! I’ll let you know next week if it was successful.
Have you started school yet? What classes are you, or will you be, taking? What are you most excited for this year?
