Ultimate Planner Review

Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. All opinions and statements are my own.

Fall is here, which means it’s back to school time for many. This school year will look different from any year before it, but some things will not change. I always use a planner, and I’m currently using the Ultimate Student Planner by Class Tracker.

I was gifted this planner, however, all opinions are my own.

What’s included in the planner:

The planner comes with both monthly spreads and weekly spreads, 3 weekly schedule spreads (one for each semester), a goals spread, and a clear bookmark divider. This planner is a nice, compact size (7” x 8.5”) with a spiral binding and clean layout. I got the dated version, which runs from August 1st to June 30th.

How I use my planner:

I’ve been using this planner a little differently than I typically would given the variability of my days during this time. The night before I write out the major things I’d like to focus on for the day in the “Projects” section. I then use the “Assignments” section to break things into smaller tasks. Then, I sort those tasks into a schedule in the “Daily Plan” section. I only schedule the first part of my day giving me room to adjust if I need to. I add in the rest of my schedule later. Finally, I use the “Remember to” section for any small task I may have forgotten the day before.

Right now I’m keeping things pretty simple in my planner. I just one color to fill out the week. Red is for very important things and to mark things I completed after the date it was assigned.

Final Thoughts:

My favorite two sections of the planner are the “Remember to” and “Daily Plan” section of the planner. Since the “Remember to” section is separate from the assignments and important deadlines, there is space to put actual reminders. I often forget those reminders because I typically use those spaces to put my deadlines. The “Daily Plan” section lets me map out a schedule of what I’d like to get done that day. I like that the times are not on that section, because sometimes my schedule changes or I need to revise it so I need a little flexibility.

Overall, I think this planner is useful. I’ve found this planner helpful for keeping up with my academic deadlines and professional projects. I believe this makes it suitable for both students and working individuals.
