Itโs officially Spring!!! ๐ท Itโs time for another Joy Journal and this time I’m reflecting on early 2023. But first, let’s enjoy some photos I took from a recent trip to the terminal market. ๐

This year got off to a great start because I attended Holly Blackโs book signing for her new release The Stolen Heir in January! This is the first book in a follow-up duology of one of my favorite series The Folk of the Air. I look forward to reading it and sharing my thoughts.

Although I went to BookCon back in 2018, this was actually my first time attending an author signing. When I had called ahead I was told to get there about an hour early. And I did, but when I got to the store I thought the event was on the first floor and just hung out there and looked around. About 30 minutes before the event I became suspicious that no line was forming, and this was when I learned that there were actually 4 floors and the event was on the fourth floor. ๐ Needless to say, I will make sure I am early AND in the right spot next time.ย

Last month, I went out with some friends to have a coffee date where we would be productive. I had job apps and a project to work on, and my friends had to study and do other work. Unfortunately, we didnโt account for the fact that we hadnโt seen each other in a while and ended up spending a lot of time chatting. But Iโm not complaining because we had a great time! ๐
Then my friends convinced me to watch The Glory, which I was previously on the fence about. I binged Part 1 in a few days so I would be ready for Part 2 when it dropped. I spent about a week watching Part 2 with a friend on Facetime and it was so much fun. The revenge was so carefully planned out, it was honestly brilliant.ย
Lastly, I donโt want to jinx anything but I have been reading more consistently lately. Iโve mentioned a few times that I often get into reading slumps but in the past few weeks Iโve read 1-2 books and itโs been so nice! Even if I donโt finish something, I at least made some progress with it. I am still getting back into my longer books, but Iโm taking this as a win.
Well, thatโs all for now. I hope the early part of this year has treated you well! See you soon!
