My Week in Photos #11

my-week-in-photos

It is the first “My Week in Photos” post of 2017!! My favorite part of writing these posts is that they make me remember all the good things that happen during the week. It is so easy to let all of the stress eclipse all the good, and these posts remind me that there is a balance of both in my life – which we need.

March 5th – March 11th 2017

This week had a pretty rocky start. On Monday night I stayed up to study for my Women’s Health exam, only to find out on Tuesday morning that the exam was next week. Needless to say, I was not too happy.

After that class I holed up in the library and worked on my lab report – procrastination really came back to bite me  this time- and study for my neurobiology exam the next day. I do not know the results of either, but I think it is safe to say that I will be doing a lot more planning ahead from now on.

That evening in lab, we looked at the structures of various plants. Since I was young I always loved plants, and their various fragrances and uses. Although this lab was really long, I liked learning about the many differences in plants to the naked eye and under a microscope.

On Thursday I met up with a friend before class to get some breakfast. We went to a diner a block away from school, ate, and caught up. It was great hanging out off of campus, and the food was not bad either. Breakfast is hands down my favorite meal of the day, and I am not even a morning person!

Later in the day, I met up with some other friends who I hadn’t caught up with in a while. Taking a break from studying and this hectic week to spend time with friends was just what I needed.

On Friday, I woke up just in time to get ready to attend a Women’s Leadership Summit put together by some of the students I knew at our school. Listening to the different panels of women who have been leaders in our community for years was awe inspiring. We listened to women of various ages who have taken what they had in life and found a way to give back to their community. It reminded me that even when things look like they are impossible, you need to keep pushing yourself.

Overall, I would say this was a pretty good week. I learned more about myself – about what I need and what is needed from me – and I am really thankful for that.

What were your highlights of this week? What have you learned this week?

Snow day in New York allowed me to get some much needed rest. May not sound like much of a highlight but it is for me with my busy schedule.
